About 500 B.C. Tarquin the Proud, banished from the throne of Rome by popular fury, determines to reconquer his lost kingdom, trusting in the powerful army of lars Porsena. (Rome, besieged and starving, is about to surrender). But the young republic, born from blood and sorrow, finds a last minute savior in its most glorious hero: Caius Mucius, called Scaevola (that is "Left Handed").
