Slipcase - Rental Tape
Ernie Souchak (JOHN BELUSHI) is a well-known Chicago Sun Times columnist who's known for his blistering political exposes. Souchak's controversial reporting, receives congratulations from fans and his managing editor Howard McDermott (ALLEN GOORWITZ); however, Souchak also gets worked over by thugs and ends up in the hospital. McDermott decides it's time for Souchak to take some time off.
Howard suggests he head for the Rockies to interview a reclusive, famous lady ornithologist Nell Porter (BLAIR BROWN), who studies the endangered American Bald Eagle. Amid the majestic Rocky Mountains we see Souchak-chain-smoking and carrying an enormous backpack - and his weatherbeaten guide, Deke Lewis (LIAM RUSSELL). Deke mentions to Souchak that he hopes he isn't a reporter because Nell hates him. This is the beginning of the delightful adventures between Souchak and Nell at the top of the world on the Continental Divide. When they met they heard bells... and that was just round one.
