Before the discovery of anaesthetics, patients requiring surgery were strapped down and suffered amputations while fully conscious... ...an appalled Dr. Bolton meets Black Ben and Resurrection Joe. These two evil men supply doctors with dead bodies for dissection. He falls into their clutches when he signs a death certificate for a murdered man. Eventually the police catch up with them and raid a tavern where Joe has fatally stabbed Dr. Bolton. Other doctors carry on Dr. Bolton's work and bring an end to the torment of the surgeon's knife.
