The 'Fuehrer's Antiquarian Reclamation' project takes place in a light security P.O.W. camp to a treasure laden island of Greece during World War II. Specially-assigned prisoners, those judged best able to dig up Greek art treasures, labor under the watchful eye of the camp's Austrian commandant, Major Otto Hecht. When possible, they try to escape. Hecht is a debonair, somewhat sympathetic, knowledgeable purveyor of Greek antiques - hence his assignment to run the camp. His loyalty to the Reich, however, is limited. It does not prevent him from 'catching' considerable amounts of the loot for himself. The prisoners hear rumours of limitless treasure in gold at the cloistered monastery on the island's peak. The island is militarily important as it holds a submarine oil supply depot. This is just the beginning of the adventure...
