Gray Lady Down

The nuclear submarine "Neptune", badly damaged in a collision, lies on a ledge of rock and mud above an ocean canyon at a hull-crushing depth of 1,450 feet. There is almost constant geological disturbance in the area and the trapped survivors have only enough oxygen for 48 hours. A desperate rescue bid is mounted. A Deep Submergence Rescue Vessel and a two-man experimental vessel are used in a grim race against time as succeeding earth termors tilt the sub further towards the underwater chasm and cover the escape hatch with tons of earth.
