However, with the aid of an ailing millionaire, Wilton Knight, Michael survives. The country's best plastic surgeons are employed to reconstruct his face-but not his own. Wilton, arranges a new identity for him - Michael Knight. During his recovery, the Knight Enterpise Laboratory scientists are working overtime to produce a sensitive, computerised, and indestructable car for Michael. The car is caled the Knight 2000 and its speaking computer K.I.T.T. is intune with the sensor carefully implanted in Michael's brain. Three months later, fully recovered, Michael sets off with his new identity to avenge Lonnie's assassins and to continue his fight for justice.
