The collaboration between David Lean and Maurice Jarre is unique in cinema history. It began in 1962, and extended for 28yrs until David Lean's death in 1990. Jarre's musical themes have become signature works, forever identified with each of Lean's films. And Jarre's three Oscar's for best film music, awarded for his scores for "Lawrence of Arabia" in 1963, "Dr. Zchivago" in 1966, and "A Passage to India" in 1985, represnt an incomparable achievement.
