THE BACKGROUND:
1959. Castro is seizing power in Cuba. US servicemen and the American rich are hastily prepairing for a fast exit from the country. Amid the chaos, a Navy seaman is caught by his lieutenant on a small offshore island, burying a fortune of stolen money. They agree to return for the loot, after the revolution.
THE PRESENT:
As a present to his blind wife Helen (Dunaway), businessman Morely (Travanti) arranges a trip to the Carribean onboard a luxury yacht, owned by their friends Lexa (Cattrall) and her husband Jeff (Laughlin). The midnight crossing decends into a nightmare of violence, deceipt, and treachery as the real intention of the Morely's pleasure trip becomes clear. In a small boat at the dead of night, pitched against a combination of the Cuban Navy assorted bounty-hunters and a tropical storm, it would be nice to know just who your friends are. . .
In a storm of desire, passion, doublecross and murder, four people are about to be swept away.
