Chevy Chase, one of the best comedians working in pictures today and the star of such films as Foul Play and Caddyshack is splendid as the much put- upon father, well supported by Beverly D'Angelo as his long-suffering wife, Imogene Coca gives a marvellously eccentric performance as the dotty aunt the family are saddled with to take along to Arizona and the film, with its non-stop gags and brisk direction by Harold Ramis emerges as great comedy entertainment and, said the Sunday Express, generates some welcome laughter'.
