THE OLDEST PROFESSION IN A NEW-LOOK COMEDY
NIGHT SHIFT, which stars Henry Winkler - The Fonz in TV's long-running series"HAPPY DAYS" - is a delightfully zany, joyously high spirited comedy in which two enterprising young men hit on a way-out business scheme they hope will make their fortunes. Winkler plays Charles Lumley III a timid but talented financial wizard, who is unable to take the pressure of Wall Street, retreats into a safe little job as an attendant at the New York City morgue. It is there that he meets a frenetic, self-styled 'ideal man' called Bill Blazejowski (Michael Keaton), who, on learning that a pretty young hooker called Belinda (Shelly Long) and several of her co-workers have lost their regular pimp - has his best idea yet: a call-girl agency operating out of the morgue at night!.
As Bill rounds up an enticing list of clients, Chuck takes care of the financial side - and in no time at all they're cleaning up. But not for long. Their success unleashes the wrath of the New York underworld - as wellas a cataract of non-stop laughter as the two intrepid entrepreneurs attempt to stay alive.
