Oh, God!

SUPPOSE - JUST SUPPOSE - GOD TOLD YOU TO SPREAD THE WORD? You're and assistant manager in a California supermarket. You've got a wife and kids who love you. You don't tell lies, and you don't oil the cucumbers because it's dishonest. You're a good man. Not a great man, but a good man. Suddenly, out of the blue, God grants you an interview. (He misspells "interview", but nobody's perfect). He tells you he's picked you to carry his message to all mankind. Somehow, that's an offer you can't refuse. John Denver plays the role of Jerry Landers, the Everyman God calls upon to do his bidding, and George Burns plays God! Jerry does have a predicament. His wife tries, but can't understand. His kids think it all sounds bananas. Theologians decide he's a fanatic. And his supermarket employers are not amused. But God looks on the bright side of things. "Lose a job, save the world.
