One Blow to Many

1984 EMMY AWARD WINNER James Cagney stars as former boxing champion Joe Moran, who lives in comfortable retirement with Troy (Art Carney) another ex-fighter who serves as his housekeeper. Although confined to a wheelchair, he remains the indomitable character who rose from the slums of Manhattan to become a boxing legend. His peace is disturbed by the sudden re-appearance of his granddaughter Ronnie who he hasn't seen for fifteen years. Unknown to him her return is prompted by the need for money, not for herself, but for her boyfriend Nick, a failed entrepreneur. Although at first distrustful of each other, a warm family bond develops between them. Joe even convinces Ronnie to write his biography. But trouble looms when Ronnie is finally forced to confront Joe with the real reason for her reappearance.
