One of the most accomplished war films ever to come out of Hollywood; the story of 'blood and guts' Patton, one of the most controversial American generals of World War II and a man who forfeited command of the Seventh Army in Italy when he slapped a soldier and accused him of cowardice. The picture traces his career through the North African, Sicilian and European campaigns and includes some of the most spectacular battle scenes ever put on film. George C. Scott stars as Patton, Karl Malden as General Omar Bradley; the film, co-scripted by Francis Ford Coppola and directed by Franklin Schaffner, won seven Academy Awards and was named best picture of 1970.
