In the "Table By The Window." Julie Christie plays Anne, an ageing fashion model, whose arrival at a hotel in Bournemouth is actually a contrived reunion with her ex-husband John, (Alan Bates) a politician ruined by scandal. John has begun an affair with the hotel manager, Mrs. Cooper. Anne's appearence rekindles their passionate love and hey must choose between the emptiness of their lives apart and a love that threatens to destroy them.
"Table Number Seven" features Christie as Sybil, the mousy daughter of a tyrannical mother, who harbours a secert love for the pompous Major Pollock (Bates). When a local newspaper exposes the 'Major' as a fraud and a sex offender Sibyl is forced to take a stand for the first time in her life.
