"I'm for married priests, a volunteer army, and anybody for anyway to bust hypocrisy." (Peter Carey, M.D.)
A dramatic change of pace for Blake Edwards, the hugely successful director of so many hilarious comedies, ' The Carey Treatment' is a contemporary suspense story set amongst the wards and corridors of a large Boston hospital. James Coburn plays Peter Carey, M.D. Arriving at the hospital from the coast to take up a position as a resident pathologist, Carey soon discovers that it is the medical profession, not the patients who are in urgent need of treatment.
Behind the strached white coats and clam bedside manner a drama is taking place - abortion becomes murder and a brilliant surgeon's career is laid on the line as the search for a scapegoat theatens everyone. "The Carey Treatment" also features the beautiful Jennifer O' Neill, star of the super-successsful 'Summer of 42' and veteran stage and screen actor, Pat Hingle.
