"INGENIOUS GRIPPING THRILLER"
Daily Mail
THE FIRST PERSON YOU WANT TO TRUST.
THE LAST PERSON YOU WANT TO SUSPECT.
FIRST THERE WAS THE YORKSHIRE RIPPER-
NOW THERE IS...
HER HUSBAND MAY BE THE KILLER. HER MIND MAY BE PLAYING TRICKS. EITHER WAY THE UNTHINKABLE IS HAPPENING... There seems little remarkable in Annie Marsh's (HELEN MIRREN) life, until she learns of a series of savage, sexual murders happening in her neighbourhood. The killer is known as "The Hawk" - so called because he pecks out the eyes of his victims after his brutal attacks. "The Hawk" has the north of Britain in a grip of fear.
Annie's happy life starts to go wrong as things begin to trouble her: a missing hammer, comments overheard in a pub and the uncanny similarity between the dates of the murders and her husband Stephen's work trips away from home. To save her family she will meet violence with violence as this taut psychological thriller draws to its gripping conclusion.
Is Stephen "The Hawk"? Or is Annie Marsh going mad?
