Doomed to Guard the Gates of Hell Forever
She is Young She is Beautiful She is Next....
The Sentinel, based on Jeffrey Konvitz's best selling novel, is a chilling, contemporary ghost story set in New York City. Alison Parker, an attractive young model, finds a perfect apartment in an antique Brooklyn brownstone. Upon moving in, Alison finds her neighbours to be remarkably friendly, if a bit eccentric. At night, however, she is kept awake by a rattling chandelier, and the footsteps of someone pacing in the room above. Convinced she must get more rest, Alison complains to the rental agency about the nightly disturbance, remarking that her other neighbours are much more considerate. The agent informs her that aside from an invalid, blind, and apparently insane old priest who maintains a constant vigil at a top floor window - Alison is the only tenant! An exercise in paranoia and demonology in the style of Rosemary's Baby, The Sentinel provides something to terrify everyone - sudden and shockingly graphic episodes of violence and a menagerie of the most grotesquely deformed, unspeakably repulsive creatures since Freaks.
