He gave his critics a bloody and violent taste of their own medicine!
The great bard Shakespear once wrote: "All the world's a stage and all the men and women merely players; they have their exits and their entrances. . .".
Apt words, for 'Theatre of Blood' delights in some of the most gruesome 'exits' on film. Vincent Price plays Edward Lionheart , a gloriously eccentric classical actor who is refused the best-actor award by eight London critics. Demented by his outrage, Lionheart hatches a diabolical plot to dispose of the critics once and for all.
Gleefully he embarks upon a series of macabre and grisly slayings which pay a warped homage to the classic murder scenes from Shakspeare's plays.
