THEIR HUNTING GROUND-NEW YORK CITY. THEIR PREY-THE PEOPLE After a ceremony announcing a brand new development in the Bronx, an important businessman and his wife are savagely attacked. As a result, Murder Squad Detective Dewey Wilson (Albert Finney) is recalled to the Force after a period of suspension. He is teamed up with a lovely psychologist, Rebecca Neff (Diane Venora), and together they make the sinister discovery that the victim's wounds may have been the result of a non-human attack. The mutilated bodies of tramps are found during slum clearences in the Bronx, and while exploring a gutted church, Dewey and Rebecca are overcome by an inexplicable fear and flee. Dewey then consults Lupine expert Fergy Ferguson, (Tom Noonan) only to have his worst fears confirmed-the killer could be a particularly large species of wolf. With this in mind Dewey seeks further information about wolf behaviour from an old Indian. Whilst police continue to work on the asssumption that the murders are terrorist executions, Fergy is killed. Now, convinced that the killers are linked with the supernatural, Dewey goes back to the Indians and learns that the killers are not wolves but Wolfen. . . © Orion Pictures and Warner Bros, Inc.
